With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charlotte Lorraine Matthews Ansalvish of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on March 1, 2022 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hattie Miller Matthews and Walter Matthews; and her father-in-law Herman Ansalvish. She is survived by: her husband James Ansalvish, Sr. (Jim); her children, Linda Chatham, Debra Meadows and James Ansalvish, Jr. (Jay); her grandchildren, Becky Martin, Connie Wiessner, James Ansalvish, III (Leanna), Zachary Ansalvish, Bradley Ansalvish, Jenna Ervin (Alex), Matthew Ansalvish and Heather Mack; and her siblings, Mervin Matthews, Gene Matthews, Irene Ellsworth and Gloria Stucker. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Winkler's Grove Baptist Church, 3320 9th Ave. Dr., NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
