He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Carroll Alden; his wife Gaylene Mihalevich Carpenter; his son Ricky "Rick" Carpenter (Connie) of Hickory; his stepson Bill Billington (Mary); his siblings, Carroll "Gus" Carpenter (Libby) of Florida, Patricia "Patsy" Patton of Hickory Kathleen and Smith (Austin) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Korey Carpenter Garner, Casey Carpenter, Ryan Carpenter and Patrick Carpenter; his stepgrandchildren, Brandi Billington Miller, Hunter Billington, Tyler Billington, Brooke Billington, Hannah Billington and Josh Billington; and his great grandchildren, Emma Garner, Ashton Carpenter, Josephine Carpenter, Cohen Carpenter and Henry Carpenter.
