He was predeceased by: his daughter Catherine Matheson Dale; and his siblings, Hazel Dale Shores and Fred Jones Dale, Jr.. He is survived by: his parents, Fred Jones and Gladys Hudson Dale; his wife Susan Matheson Dale; his son David Lewis "Crockett" Dale, Jr. (Liza); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Dale Uhrinek (Brian), Janie Dale and Catherine Dale; and his sister Nancy Dale Stout (Al).
