It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Melton Futrell of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on February 19, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Futrell and Sallie Futrell; and his brother-in-law Charles Ray Woodard of Murfreesboro. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Futrell of Hickory; his daughters, Tracy Lumpkins (Tim) of Oxford and Kathy Mazurek (Jason) of Charlotte; his siblings, Caroleen Woodard of Murfreesboro, Winborne Futrell (Shirley) and Greer Futrell (Sheriel); his grandchildren, Seth Lumpkins (Mallory) of Oxford, AbbyKate Lumpkins of Oxford and Logan Mazurek of Charlotte; and his great grandchild Mary Owen Lumpkins of Oxford. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
