It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Ann Merrill (Hickory, North Carolina), who passed away on February 24, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Junius and Thelma Mays Bayliff; her husband Charles Franklin Merrill, Sr.; her sister Patricia Thomasson; and her sister-in-law Marsha M. Hupko.
She is survived by: her son Charles F. Merrill Jr. (Angela) of Hickory; her grandchildren, Joshua J. Merrill of Chapel Hill and Rachel E. Merrill of Boone; her siblings, Kathryn Gutierrez (Scott) of Jackson Springs and David Bayliff (Teri) of Easley, SC.; and her brothers-in-law, Jim Thomasson of Aberdeen, NC and Michael B. Hupko of Johnson City, TN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
