It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Lynn Newton (Hickory, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on January 22, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Lynn and Kate Young Lynn; her husband Melvin Arthur Newton Sr.; her daughter Sherry Wilson; and her son-in-law Nolan Wilson.
She is survived by: her son Melvin Arthur, Jr. of Henry River; her grandchildren, Jeff Wilson of Icard, Eric Bradley Newton (Nicole) of Hickory and Anna Herrell (Cole) of Hildebran; her great grandchildren, Erin Newton, Jordan Newton, Katie Herrell, Nicklaus Newton and Bryce Herrell; and her daughter-in-law Donna Newton.
