It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Faye Marie (Shook) Starnes of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on November 20, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Shook and Vera Shook (Hedrick); her sister Alma Jo Hedrick (Shook); and her daughter Ellen Marie Rice (Starnes). She is survived by: her husband John Richard Starnes; her son John Eric Starnes (Veronika); her grandson Michael Rice; and her stepchildren, Jeanie Hedrick, Scott and Cindy Malcolm.

Faye will lie in state Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 11:00am to 7:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home, due to Covid restriction to avoid large gathering.
