He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Starnes and Beulah Miller Starnes; his wife Judy Keller Starnes; his parents-in-law, Edd and Macie Keller; and his siblings, Hugh, Arvil Starnes, Pauline Ferguson, Leona Anderson and Verna Brookshire.
He is survived by: his son Michael Starnes (Tammy) of Hickory; his siblings, Sue Starnes and Boyce Starnes (Dorothea); and his niece Judy Yount. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
