With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fred Leander Reese Jr. of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on December 5, 2021 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Leander Reese, Sr. and Mary Anna Smyre Reese; his wife Rebecca Ann Eggers Reese; and his siblings, Louis Reese, Foy Reese, Wade Reese, Harold Reese, Hugh Reese, Ned Reese, Helen Sherrill and Lois Hambright.

He is survived by: his sons, Fred L. Reese, III (Michelle) of Taylorsville and Adam L. Reese (Lisa) of Hudson; his grandchildren, Christopher Reese and Ethen Reese; and his brothers, Paul Reese (Linda) and Lee Reese (Donna) of Conover.
