He was predeceased by: his son William Hester; and his sisters, Barbara Jean Hester and Josephine Hester. He is survived by: his wife Irene Hester; his children, Rev. Michael Hester (Wanda) of Hickory, Tim Hester (Karen) of Grayson, Gaither Lynn Hester of Hickory, Kimberly Miller (Shawn) of Lawrenceville and Tiffany Edmonds (Carlos) of Upper Marlboro; and his siblings, Lynwood Hester of Hickory, NC and Eleanor B. Davis of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
