He was predeceased by: his father George E. Kanupp; and his stepson Christopher Essary. He is survived by: his mother Mary Honeycutt Kanupp; his siblings, Libby K. Auton (Wayne) of Hickory and Kenny Kanupp (Marcella) of Hickory; his stepdaughter Lauren Weaver (Brian) of Newton; and his stepgrandchildren, Jensen Campbell Weaver of Newton, Emma of Newton and Chloe Essary of Newton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
