He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert "Jack" Ward Beeson and Vivian Humphrey Beeson; and his sister Sylvia Stinson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Phillips Beeson; his children, Gilbert Ward Beeson, III (Diane) of Montgomery, Alabama and Sumrell Van Meter (Patrick) of Hickory; and his grandchildren, Jacob Van Meter and Claire Van Meter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
