It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gwendolyn Faye Benfield Huffman (Hickory, North Carolina), who passed away on June 23, 2019, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bam Benfield and Clara Watson Benfield; her brother Bobby Benfield; and her brother-in-law Bob Shook. She is survived by: her children, Julie Simmons (Mark) of Winston Salem, Shelley Weaver (Rick) of Hickory, Greg Huffman (Mary) of Hickory and Doug Huffman of Raleigh; her grandsons, Alex Simmons, Jonathan Simmons (Megan) and Jacob Paul Weaver; her sisters, Elaine Shook and Vanessa Grill (Frank); her sister-in-law Toni Benfield; her siblings' children, Jodie Benfield, David Shane Benfield and Alan Shook; her close friend Jim Simmons; and her friend Kathy Setzer.
