She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar R. Bean and Naomi Ford Bean Helton; and her husband Eugene W. Short. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Short Lane (William) of Cary and Terry Short (Vanessa) of Hickory. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
