She is survived by: her children, Thomas III (Monica), Patrick (Jessica) and Aileen (Sindhur); her granddaughters, Paige and Grace; her sisters, Ann Marie DiMaio (Ed), Kathleen Nathan (Rob), Mary Pancoast (Jeff) and Bernadette Foster (Joe); and her sister-in-law Kathleen Authenreith (Dave).

Helen did not wish to receive flowers or gifts but rather donations be made to https: //http://www.lungcancerinitiativenc.org in her name.
