He was predeceased by : his parents, John Allison Abernethy, Sr. and Mattie Lipe Abernethy; his wife Joyce Pierce Abernethy; and his brother John Allison Abernethy, Jr.. He is survived by : his friend Dr. Dan Espey; his cousin P. Lipe, Jr.; his friends, Jim Furlong and Jim Phillips; his nephews, Walter and John; his daughters, Lisa Abernethy Christman (Roger) and Kimberly Abernethy Loveless (Larry); his grandchildren, William Abernethy Christman, Caroline Pierce Christman, Rebecca Loveless and Jacob Loveless (Kelly); his sister Mary Bradley; and also, Kimberly, Jim, Pat Furlong and Mount Kilimanjaro.
