She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Hugh Hoke and Annie Ruth Stoner Hoke; her daughter Sonya Carter Finegan; and her brother Harry Hoke. She is survived by: her husband Roy Andrew Carter, Jr. of Hickory; her son Doug Carter (Amy) of Hickory; her son-in-law Mike Finegan of Mooresville; her siblings, Jack Hoke of Hickory and Hazel Lovelace; her grandchildren, Kate Westmoreland (Chris), Bryce Carter, Ellie Saladino (Dom), Ethan Carter and Matthew Finegan; and her great grandchild Avery Westmoreland A.
