With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jack Edward Whitener of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on January 28, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Worth Whitener and Ruby Propst Whitener; his siblings, Ronald Whitener and Judy W. Locklear; and his nephew Mark Locklear.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Fulbright Whitener; his daughters, Lori Dalton (Vance) of Newton, Patti McIntire, Glenn Walter of Hickory, Shelley Trogdon (Bryan) of Kernersville and Katie Lowman (Lee) of Hildebran; his sisters, Elizabeth Elliott (David) of Bridgeport, Peggy Whitener of Hickory and Margaret Miller (Butch) of Hickory; his siblings-in-law, Ruth Whitener of Taylorsville and Calvin "C. J."; and his grandchildren, Isaac Dalton (Kayla Demeny), Jake Dalton, Alexis Davis, Gabriela, Andrew McIntire, Mikayla Walter, Caleb and Nicholas Trogdon Numerous.
