He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Latimore Russell and Nellie Hitson Russell; and his siblings, Hoyit, Roy, William, David, Deana Cook, Betty Stewart, Fay Williams and Tootsie Lingerfelt.
He is survived by: his wife Corena Davis Russell; his children, Robert Russell (Amy) of Claremont, Timothy Russell of Catawba and Geba Davenport (Marvin) of Granite Falls; his sister Freda Schrimsher of Tennessee; his sister-in-law Lois Julian (Allen) of Valdese; his grandsons, Jesse, Adam Jarrett, Robbie and Rex Russell; his great grandchildren, Laney, Quinn, Graham and Brynlee; his grandchildren, Eric Wilkinson, Darian Starr and Taylor Sigmon; and his great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Carter.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
