We are sad to announce that on February 1, 2020, at the age of 94, Jessie Edward Fortenberry (Hickory, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie C. Fortenberry and Nora Bradshaw Fortenberry; his sons, Eddie and Billy; and his siblings, Thelma F. Wycoff, Hattie F. Bass, Roy, Fred, Ethel F. Walker, Beulah F. Washburn, Minnie F. Lowman Lail and Johnny.
He is survived by: his wife Mavis Hudson Fortenberry; his daughters, Marie Swink (Gene) and Ellen Fortenberry; his grandchildren, Amy English (Tom), Jimmy Fortenberry (Leslie) and Tracy Annas; his great grandchildren, Jessie Huff (Bailey), Alex Huff, Kayla Fortenberry, Paizli Fortenberry and Spencer Bumgarner; his great great grandchild Jaxon Huff; and his siblings-in-law, Floy Fortenberry, Corene Johnson and Michael Hudson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
