He is survived by: his wife Patricia Carpenter Shuford; his children, Tianta Price (Zachary) of Morganton, NC, Tyrone Carpenter Sr. of Morganton, NC and Skylar Wilfong of Hickory, NC; and his siblings, Juanita Byars (Theodore) of New York, Alma Sykes of New York, Katie Roberts of Hickory, NC, Bobby Bivens of Hickory, NC and Shirley Johnson (Clarence) of Morganton, NC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
