He is survived by: his wife Debra Moretz Simerly; his children, Tammy Trent (Kenny) of Taylorsville, Kristine Wehunt (Adam) of Mooresville, Todd Simerly (Amanda) of Taylorsville, Jamie Simerly (Nichole) of Taylorsville, Travis Simerly (Savanna) of Newton and Jessie Simerly of Hickory; his stepson Devin Akers of Hickory; his siblings, Melva Doris King of Hampton, TN, Judy Guinn of Johnson City, TN, Janie Guinn (Harland), Jill Stansbury (Roy) of Johnson City, TN, Rev. Allen Simerly (Judy) of Hampton, TN and Teddy Mack Simerly of Hampton, TN; and his sister-in-law Janice Simerly. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
