She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas A. Meroney and Ella Hanes Meroney; the father of her children Marshall Beard; her grandson Andy Phelps; and her siblings, Virginia Lefevers, Alma Bolick, Carolyn Little, Thomas Meroney and Larry Meroney.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Phelps (Jack) of Hickory, NC, Barry Beard (Jane) of Sanford, NC and Michael Beard (Retha) of Hickory, NC; her granddaughters, Amy Phelps McGrath (Patrick) of Winston-Salem, NC, Jenny Beard Cody (David) of Hickory, NC, Michelle Beard Kimble (Wayne) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Erin Beard Cox (Mike) of Sanford, NC.; and her siblings-in-law, Glenn Little and Marie Meroney. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and all of her special nieces and nephews.
