She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Reed and Pauline McRee Reed; her husband Donald Barkley; her siblings, Bob, Jim (Ruby), Dean Reed and Sue Reed Franklin; and her sister-in-law Betty Reed of Hickory.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Barkley Martin (Larry "Butch") of Hildebran and Renae Barkley Sutton of Cornelius; her grandchildren, Sharon Crump Cline (Carl) of Newton, Alicia Crump Huckabee (Adam) of Hildebran, Graham Sutton (Laura) of White House, TN and Kenzie Sutton of Cornelius; her great grandchildren, Lydia, Savannah, Lily Huckabee, Scarlett and Emilia Sutton; and her brother Edwin Reed of Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to West Hickory Baptist Church at 40 12th St. NW Hickory, NC or the Alzheimer's Association.
