It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Coulter Witherspoon (Hickory, North Carolina), born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on May 21, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry Coulter and Jeanette Bost Coulter; her husband Charles Thomas Witherspoon, Sr; and her siblings, John Henry "Jack" Coulter, Jr. and Nancy C. Cline.
She is survived by: her children, Sheila Love Witherspoon Rudisill (David) of Vale, Julia Anne Witherspoon Aliberti (Jeffrey) of Hickory and Charles T. Witherspoon, Jr. (Crystal) of Conover; her sister Sylvia Gallimore (John) of Charlotte; her grandson Joseph Leland Witherspoon (Melissa) of Conover; and her great grandchildren, Lachlan and Athena Witherspoon of Conover. She is also survived by three children.
