He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Mae Anthony; his brother Harvey Anthony; his father James Anthony; and his stepmother Ouida Anthony. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Ann Rish; his child Don; his spouse Shirley Anthony of Hickory, NC; his children, Donna Anthony of Greensboro, NC and Marvin Donald Anthony, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Joan Ferguson of Durham, NC; his brother James Anthony; his sister-in-law Joanne Anthony of Columbus, GA; and his sibling's children, Jackie, Jennifer and James.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Catawba Regional Hospice, or the Salvation Army of Hickory.
