It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Starnes (Hickory, North Carolina), who passed away on June 13, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Shuford and Candies Killian Shuford; her husband Billy Ray Starnes; and her siblings, Ray, Gaither Shuford and Mozelle Toney.
She is survived by: her daughter Beverly Lail of Icard; her grandson Benjamin Lail (Kelly) of Hildebran; her brother Roger Shuford (Lucy) of Hickory; and her sister-in-law Irlene Reid of Connelly Springs. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
