It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen (Lynn) Young of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on June 3, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Lynn and Fannie Hildebran Lynn; her husband Harley Young; her son Jeff York; her siblings, Myrtle Dowell, Ellen Young, Frances "Pig" Price, Betty Jane Lynn, Millie Adams, Floyd Lynn, Cecil Lynn, Pete Lynn and Joe Lynn; and her brothers-in-law, Marshall Berry and Darrel Young.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Young (Elizabeth) of Hickory and Melissa Starnes; her grandchildren, Patrick Young, Matthew Starnes and Macy McCombs; her sisters, Nettie Berry, Carel Shipman (Larry) and Kathy Young; her stepdaughter Marcia Young; her niece Gail Migielicz; and her great grandchild Mahayla Starnes.
