With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Ruth Rugel (Hickory, North Carolina), who passed away on January 24, 2020 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Preston Painter and Carrie Susie Painter; and her husband John Thomas Rugel. She is survived by: her children, Paulette (Ken), Gloria (Roger), Mark (Melissa) and Carolyn; and her grandchildren, Johnny, Michael, Brian, Bethany, Abigail, Ben and Thomas. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
