He is survived by: his wife Deborah Tonnette Coffman Hicks; his children, Daniel Meek Hicks, MaKayla Lynn Hicks and Abby Naomi Hicks; his stepchildren, Jason Scott King, Christopher Robert King, Matthew Lee Jimerson, Adam Daniel Jimerson, Jeremy Paul Jimerson and Rachel Ann Jimerson; his sisters, Sherry Hileman (Gary) of Columbia, TN, Mary Minturn (David) of Oak Ridge, TN and Ellen McGowan (Travis) of Sweetwater, TN.; his aunts and uncles, Martha Wood Eaves (Ed) of Chattanooga, TN, DeLois Hicks Anderson (Sam) of Kingsport, TN, Rev. Joel Wood (Diane) of Chattanooga, TN and Dr. J. Barry Wood (Diane) of Pinson, AL; his cousin Dee Dee Anderson (Daniel Dietrich) of Kingsport, TN.; and his siblings' children, Amanda Fuller, Ashley Pelfrey, Dr. Emily Bivens, Beth Hawkins, Adam Hileman, Rev. Kurt Montooth, Frankford and Dylan McGowan. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was dedicated to witnessing to everyone he met; even while in the emergency room waiting to be admitted with COVID-19, he witnessed to people.
