It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Jonathan Eckard of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on June 12, 2020, at the age of 47, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his parents, David Eckard (Sherry) of Hickory and Betty Matherly Bentley (Terry) of Hickory; his children, Peyton Jakob Eckard of Hudson and Caramia Lane Eckard of Hudson; his siblings, Marcella Grover of Conover and Will Eckard (Spencer) of Hickory; his stepsister Wendy Wagner (Charlie) of Germany; and the mother of his children Amy Eckard of Hudson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
