He was predeceased by: his mother Patty Walker Dula Roberts. He is survived by: his son Christian James Atkins of Moravian Falls; his brother Cary Joe Roberts (Heather) of Huntersville; his aunt Alicia W. Buff (Donald) of Newton; and his uncle James H. Walker (Pauline) of Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon Walker Baptist Church, 8780 West NC 268, Boomer, NC 28606.
