He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Oscar Porter and Hessie Mae Dancy Porter; his wife Deborah "Debbie" Turnbill Porter; his children, Tia Porter Richards (Mark) of Suffolk, VA and Jeffrey Mark Porter (Melinda) of Huntersville, NC; his siblings, Jerry Porter, Dale Porter, Eddie Porter, Rebecca Porter and Rita Hubbard; and his granddaughters, Ashlee Jordan Heath, Alicia Chandler Porter and Alyssa Jenna Heath.
