It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Gross Powell of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on December 24, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Edward Gross and Bertie Killian Gross; her husband Charles Franklin Powell; her brothers, Jimmy Ray Gross and Calvin Gross; her children, Pete Powell (Becky) of Hickory, Cyndi Hoyer (Tom) and Dawn Hedrick (Thomas) of Hickory; her sister Judy Buff; her grandchildren, Stephanie H. Lesher, Jamie H. Adcock, Steven Hope Jr., Charles D. Powell, Heather Hedrick, Joshua Hedrick, Andrew Hedrick and Matthew Hedrick; and her great great grandchild Due.
