It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Elmer Hoke of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on July 14, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Hoke Poovey; his wife Ethel I. Price Hoke; and his brothers, Joe Poovey, David Poovey and Lynn Poovey.
He is survived by: his children, Jeannie Pierce, Jacky Baker, Tina Anne Hoke Williams (David), Annette Good and Billy Ray Hoke (Michelle) of Hickory; his brother Kenny Poovey (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Brandon Pierce, Wesley Hoke, Heather Winters, Aaron Winters, Lauren Good and Rebecca Hoke; and his great grandchildren, Mason Hoke, Bryson Winters, Mylen Winters, Madison Winters, Katelyn Hoke, Campbell Pierce, Annsley Pierce and Micah Partin.
