He was predeceased by: his parent Earnest Ray. He is survived by: his parent Zula Hollar Bowman; and his brothers, Donald Ray Bowman (Hazel) of Conover, Bob Bowman (Faye) of Conover, Roger Dale Bowman (Judy) of Vale and David Lee Bowman of Morganton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church in Conover.
