He was predeceased by: his mother Geraldine Taylor Michael. He is survived by: his siblings, Billy Dean Couey (June) of Hartwell, GA, Jacqueline Raye Gabard of Lexington, NC, Bettie Lynne Michael Schumerth (Jeffry) of Huntsville, AL and Ervin Jesse Michael of Lexington, NC; and his siblings' children, Gerald Anthony Couey, Brian Lamar Couey, Pamala Annette Michael, Cassandra Faith Marie Schumerth, David Anthony Schumerth, Sherri Renee Michael, Chad Jason Michael and Josh Ryan Michael.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held at Favor Life Church in Hickory, NC once COVID-19 restrictions have been modified to allow for funeral gatherings.
