She was predeceased by: her mothers, Hilda Field Buchanan of Hickory, NC and Ronda Councill Buchanan Sr. of Boone, NC.; and her sisters, Dorothy Buchanan Crews and Frances Buchanan Andrews of Asheville, NC.. She is survived by: her children, Ann Councill Buchanan Freeman (Larry Freeman), Thomas Speed Buchanan (Julie) of Greenville and Mary Patricia Buchanan Minor (John) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Ross Buchanan Plyler (Courtney) of Greenville, Wesley Thomas Plyler (Beth) of Greenville, Julianne Buchanan Dunning (David) of Mt. Pleasant and Thomas Speed Buchanan; and her great grandchildren, Annette Plyler, Jay Plyler, Counts Plyler, Reese Plyler, Elsie Plyler, Taylor Dunning, Ella June Buchanan, Cole Powell and Walker Powell.
