It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Jean (Scronce) Wood (Hickory, North Carolina), who passed away on October 28, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George A. Scronce and Floy Rudissell Scronce; her husband Eldridge F. Wood; her daughter Janet Matthews; and her siblings, Violet Shook, Irene Watson, Virgie Pendleton, Lee Scronce and T. C. Scronce.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Setzer (Gary) of Hickory and Annette Byrd (Randy) of Hickory; her grandchildren, Gesila Miller (Larry), Dusty Ellis and Adam Byrd (Kayla); her great grandchildren, Jenna Ellis and Moriah Colley (Shawn); her great great grandchild Luke Mull; and her sisters, Martha Lingerfelt of Vale and Alice Duckworth of Vale. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
