He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Richards and Mattie Beal Richards; and his brothers, Kenneth Richards and Cletus Richards. He is survived by: his wife Pat Triplett Richards; his son Brannon Richards (Lana Richards) of Raleigh; his siblings, Dale Richards (Becky Richards) of Hickory, Dean McCracken (Duane) of Hickory and Janice Lippard (Boe) of Hudson; and his grandchildren, Gwen and Nolan Richards.
