It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Maurice Herman (Hickory, North Carolina), born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on October 26, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Whitener and Ola Jean Hildebran Whitener; her sons, Tony Michael and Kelly Maurice Edwards; and her siblings, Mary Stallings and Charles Whitener.

She is survived by: her husband Joseph Vance Herman; her daughters, Sonja Teresa Edwards and Delores Diane Edwards Mingus (Kenneth); and her siblings, Jean Killian, Luther Whitener and Norman Whitener (Alice). She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
