He was predeceased by: his parents, Norwood Patterson and Carrie Hoke Patterson; his wife Dorothy Magdeline Matthews Patterson; his children, Felicia Patterson and Antonio Ambrose Patterson; and his siblings, Cora Morrison, Arrimenta Derr, Annie Fernandez, Reginald, Charles, Tony and Paul.
He is survived by: his children, Walter Eugene Patterson, Jr. of Fayetteville, Angelo A. Patterson (Tonya) of Newton and Miriam Annette Patterson-Bryant of Newport News, Virginia. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
