It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Kenneth Chester of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on July 20, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gutherie Chester and Bertha Watson Chester; his sister Faye Chester; and his brother-in-law Richard Kirby. He is survived by: his children, Mark Chester (Karen) of Hickory, Denise Beck (Jeff) of Hickory and Donna Miller (David) of Newton; his sister Gay Kirby of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Lauren Westmoreland (Stephen), Derick Miller (Katie), John Chester, Jessica Markley (Justen), Katherine Tedder (Brandon), Becca Swink (Patrick) and Emily Cannon (Matt Costa); and his great grandchildren, Lincoln Westmoreland, Charlotte Westmoreland, Tucker Westmoreland, Harper Westmoreland, Stella Westmoreland and Addison Tedder.
