He was predeceased by: his parents, Osborne Simmons Lawing and Alda Dellinger Lawing; his siblings, Oscar Edward Lawing (Pete), Osborne Kemit Lawing and Eulie Lawing Ballard; and his grandchild Corbin Lee Bullins.
He is survived by: his wife Janette Joines Lawing; his children, William Jerial Lawing, Jr. (Jeri) of Raleigh, Jeanna Lawing Bullins (David) of Statesville and Joelle Lawing Buckner (Phillip) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Brittany Buckner Craver (Dan) of Kernersville, Phillip William Buckner of Raleigh, Nathaniel Cole Bullins, Caroline Jean Bullins of Statesville, Abby Rebekah Buckner, Chloe Elizabeth Buckner and Sophia Marie Buckner of Hickory; and his sister Imogene Lawing Fry (Jean) of Conover. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private graveside service for family will be conducted with military rites at Catawba Memorial Park, January 23, 2020 at 1:00pm.
