He was predeceased by: his parents, George Whitner Rhyne Sr. and Gordie Lowrance Rhyne; his wife Helen; his brothers, Richard Henry Rhyne and George Whitener Rhyne Jr. Those; and his sons, John Whitener Rhyne, Rebeca of Hickory and William Nelson Rhyne of Catawba.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Charlene Deming (Jeff), Douglas Bader-Deming (Ela), Kaylyn Banerjee (Kush), Eli Alexander Rhyne (Stephen Rhyne), Carolina, Lupe and Jacqueline (Kaylee Martinez); and his great grandchildren, Sabine Banerjee, George Glenn-Deming, Jamire and Raylen Heard.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Catawba United Methodist Church Youth Center at 207 E Central Ave Catawba, NC 28609.
