She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Louis Samuels and Eula McManus Samuels; her husband Gerald Reid Buchanan; her daughter Jenali Marie Davis; and her siblings, Esther Collins, Mary Cornwell, Alice Proctor, Helen Blackwell, Henry Samuels and Jack Samuels.
She is survived by: her daughter Barbara Eller (Tom) of High Point; her grandchildren, Steven Davis (Sarah), Dana Miller (Jimmy), Katie Hambright (Scott), David Eller (Catie), Michael Davis and Melissa Faulkner (Vance); and her sister Jean Marshall. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
