He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie G. Raper and Evelyn Cole Raper; his son Justin Bray Raper; and his brother Herbert Lee Raper. He is survived by: his wife Shirley McBee Raper; his sister Geraldine Raper of High Point, NC; his aunts and uncles, Helen Cole Jones of Greensboro, NC, Doris Cole Shoffner (Garnett) of Omaha, NE, Herbert Cole (Eugenia) of Harrisburg, PA and Robert C. Cole (Carrie) of Springfield, VA; his sisters-in-law, Gladys McBee Chavis (Glenn) of High Point, NC and Karen Gray Atkinson (Jim) of High Point, NC; and his sibling's children, Marcia Davis of Boston, MA, Monica Davis of Boston, MA, Iya Rory Chavis, Trey Chavis of High Point, NC, James Atkinson, Jr of Winston Salem, NC and Ryan Atkinson (Kasey) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
