With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernie Shelar of High Point, North Carolina, born in Stokes, North Carolina, who passed away on April 10, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Wilson and Lois Shelar; his wife Edith Wilson Shelar; and his siblings, Dovie Smith, Elijah, John, Claude, George, Paul, Harvey, Randall and Dallas Shelar.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Shelar, Charlie Shelar (Debra), Sandy Hine (Mike) and Debbie Smith; his half-sister Thelma Essick; his grandchildren, Timothy, Misti, Christy, Catherine and Patrick; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Taylor, Sierra, Dennis, Jason, Aiden, Abel, Callie, Ty, Ashley, Olivia, Kaycen and Ava; and his stepgrandsons, Kevin and Bauer.
