He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Chapman and Silla Priddy Chapman; his wife Joyce Ferguson Chapman; his siblings, Sudie Peele (Clarence), Chester Chapman (Louise), Rufus "Bud" Chapman (Nell), Robert Chapman (Alease), Boyd Chapman (Billie) and Sarah Elizabeth "Lib" Peace; and his siblings' children, Roger Dale Chapman, Nancy Westmoreland, Donna Chapman Flowers and Robin Chapman Daniels.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Joe Peace of Birmingham, AL; his nephews, Steve Peace (Darla), Tom Peace (Cherie) of Nashville, TN, Tom Chapman (Tara) and Mark Chapman (Deborah) of Cary, NC; his sons, Brian (Ainsley) and Terry Chapman of Mt. Airy, NC; his niece Lori Peace of Trussville, AL; his great-niece Debra Westmoreland Snipes of Kannapolis, NC; his great-nephew Cody Daniels of Thomasville, NC.; his sibling's children, Seth Atkinson (Brittany) and Dara Davis (Eric); and also Tom Atkinson (Sharron) of Raleigh, NC.
