He is survived by: his wife Betty Carroll Smith; his children, Jeff Smith of Trinity, Richie Smith of Winston-Salem and Jennifer Smith of Trinity; his sisters, Mary Small (Frank) of Trinity, Rose Ellen Craven of Winston Salem and Ann Hughes of Thomasville; and his grandchildren, Hailey, Daisy, Jeremy, Evan, Erin, Elliana and Matthew. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
